Homemade Bread with 4 Ingredients – Simple, Quick and Foolproof

  • Knead : On a lightly floured work surface, knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until it becomes soft and elastic.
  • First rise : Place the dough in a clean, lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth and let it rest for 1 to 1.5 hours, until it doubles in size.
  • Shape the bread : Deflate the dough by gently pressing it down, then shape it into a ball or baguette as desired. Place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • Second rise : Let it rest for another 30 minutes, until the dough rises again.
  • Baking : Preheat the oven to 220°C. Bake the bread for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown and the crust is crispy.
